Steven E. Kahn, MB, ChB
Dr. Kahn is a professor of medicine in the Division of Metabolism, Endocrinology and Nutrition in the Department of Medicine at the University of Washington. His research focuses on the assessment of islet function and insulin action in states of normal and abnormal glucose metabolism. He is actively involved in a number of multicenter clinical studies examining interventional approaches to prevent and treat diabetes. His basic research studies are examining the role of islet amyloid polypeptide in the formation of islet amyloid, a process that leads to the destruction of islet beta cells.
